Those men, whose vision is not veiled, shine uninterruptedly, the moment their real nature is experienced, with their delusion gone and grief dispelled.

Commentary by Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

The seeker either realizes the Self and begins to shine, like the Self, unobstructed, or does not realize the Self and not shine at all. There is no state in between. Darkness is either there, and nothing is seen. Or there is no darkness, and everything is seen clearly. Either, ignorance and delusion veil your vision, or you become unveiled and begin to see throughout in full!

Externally there is nothing to see. The Self shines itself, unaided and absolutely. Its nature is brilliance, not the visual one, but that of knowledge and knowingness.

Because of the pleasing lustre of the Self, there will be no place for any kind of need, desire, motivation and the like. The inner sentient splendour is so nourishing and fulfilling that there is no scope for grief, delusion or any other negative or disturbing emotion such as competition, resistance or fear.

One feels very light, composed, stable and poised, no matter what takes place, what comes and goes. There is no ground or need to differentiate anything from another.

All thoughts emerge and subside, like writing in water. Each thought brings its idea, but not any urge like attraction or repulsion, love or hate, acceptance or rejection. That there is such a state is unthinkable to the ignorant and deluded. But it is quite clear for the Knower. Ah, how great is knowing, knowledge!
