Ashtavakra Gita 15.12 -

तात चिन्मात्ररूपोऽसि न ते भिन्नमिदं जगत् ।
अत: कस्य कथं कुत्र हेयोपादेयकल्पना

tāta cin-mātra-rūpo’si na te bhinnam-idaṃ jagat .
ataḥ kasya kathaṃ kutra heyopādeya-kalpanā .. 15-12..

O son, you are Consciousness by nature. This world is not different from you. Therefore, about what or whom, and how or where, comes the thought of rejecting and accepting at all?

Commentary by Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Gross things alone can be plural or manifold, and each of them can be different from the rest. In the singular Consciousness, which is the witness alone always, where is the question of there being another at all?

Can you say there are many spaces, each of them being separate from the rest? In our experiential life which revolves around the mind within the body, this principle of many and consequent differences between them, have obviously no scope or relevance. Can you separate one thought from another? Where are the many thoughts that seem to come or rise? Millions of thoughts have already risen. But where are they? Can you trace anyone having been placed anywhere within?

The witnessed world, including your body and the rest, is inert, illusory. The Self is its witness. What is there verily to think of rejecting or accepting? Can the Consciousness Self reject anything? The thing to be rejected should first be possessed by the Self. Does or can the Self possess anything at all? It is all pervading, and what is there besides it?

A gross thing can possess another gross thing. The Self being singular, and permeating everywhere, there is nothing it can take or leave. All such thoughts are irrelevant and delusional. Leave all dual concepts and be singular, sovereign and absolute!
