Ashtavakra Gita 15.11 -

त्वय्यनन्तमहाम्भोधौ विश्ववीचि: स्वभावत: ।
उदेतु वास्तमायातु न ते वृद्धिर्न वा क्षति:

tvayy-ananta-mahāmbhodhau viśva-vīciḥ svabhāvataḥ .
udetu vāstam-āyātu na te vṛddhir-na vā kṣatiḥ .. 15-11..

In you, the infinite great ocean, let the wave of the Universe emerge or subside naturally. You do not stand to gain or lose.

Commentary by Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

It is the direct experience of every one that in sleep nothing besides him exists. While all other things cease to be, the sleeper does not. The moment he wakes up, he is there and also the world, including his body. The sleeper then becomes the witness, and all the rest the witnessed. There is no doubt that the witnessed is floating in the witness, inside the body.

It is not that you, the witness, are floating in the witnessed world. Rise and fall transpire within your body, if at all. World along with all its contents rises, prevails and subsides, characteristically. You remain the same, singular, un-swelling, undiminishing.

Realize this fact, this experiential truth, and be unconditioned, full, absolute and sovereign. The sublimity and enrichment this singularness brings about are indescribable.

The inner sufficiency makes you indifferent to all gains and losses. Nothing allures or repels. There is no doubt either about you or about the world or their interactions. The Subject has nothing to court or reject. Everything is but a bubble in the Subject. Nothing is to be argued or established. By no such effort, you, the witness, will change for anything else.

The Self remains the Self alone. Can one’s shadow affect him in any way? Remain in your own majesty, magnificence and superlativeness. The quality of a thing cannot change ever.
