Ashtavakra Gita 5.3 -

प्रत्यक्षमप्यवस्तुत्वाद् विश्वं नास्त्यमले त्वयि ।
रज्जुसर्प इव व्यक्तमेवमेव लयं व्रज

pratyakṣam-apy-avastutvād viśvaṃ nāsty-amale tvayi .
rajju-sarpa iva vyaktam-evam-eva layaṃ vraja .. 5-3..

Though visible, the universe not being real, does not exist in you, pure Consciousness. There is no material transformation as in the bubble. The phenomenon is but appearantial, like the snake in the rope. Be firm in this and gain dissolution.

Commentary by Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Sage Ashtavakra goes a step further, as he did earlier. Sea and bubbles are both alike in substance. Bubbles arise on the sea surface, because the air above allows such emergence. But how can Consciousness full in the body allow any elevation like bubble? Can any shape or formation be in Consciousness? What then can be the truth of the world, and its objects?

No solid and gross creation can be possible within the body. How then do we experience thoughts, feelings, emotions and the like?

There is nothing like a physical transformation within. Whatever transpires is only as a vivarta, not pariṇāma, like the snake you notice on the floor in poor light causing fear. Fear is a fact, snake also is to that extent. But when the object is examined in sufficient light, it is found to be a rope. And fear instantly flees.

The display is appearantial, not real, hence illusory. Existence does provide for such misconceptions and resultant emotional urges. But all of it fade on true enquiry, like seeing snake on the rope. Dissolve the apprehensions of the mind in their own source. The point to grasp is that there is no physicality for our experiences. All grossness, externality and physicality are like those in dream, illusory, no doubt. Be sure. Consciousness has the power to create such illusions.
