Ashtavakra Gita 5.2 -

Spiritual effort is a process of knowing the truth and making the knowledge active in yourself, in your own mind. Mind responds to the intelligence. Let the intelligence shine with spiritual wisdom and let the effect adorn the mind well.

All the seas in the world are but one water. All bubbles are from the sea. In being the bubbles, neither a change nor an addition is involved. You see the sea and bubbles visually. You reflect about the truth of these inwardly, with your intelligence. If eyes have their effect, the intelligence has its greater effect. In fact, eyes have no power to see. Eyes are employed and vision gained inside the body, in the mind. Mind is the seat and source of all experiences.

The power and influence intelligence holds far exceed what eyes have. Requisition it and let the mind subside in itself, as the bubble in the sea. One is visual, outside. The other is invisible, inside. Are not both equally inner, mental experiences? Lend yourself to the intelligence, and allow the mind to be calm and absorbed into its own essence.

It will occur, like sleep at the end of the day. This is an outcome of knowledge and knowing process. Allow this process to be on, and witness its wonderful effect. Let thoughts and emotions dissolve. Then wake up as from sleep, refreshed and enlightened.
