In the absence of any delight in sensory objects, the Self being an invisible presence, and there being no cause for distraction, the heart becomes single-pointed. Thus I firmly dwell in my own inner essence.
The whole world is represented by sound, touch, taste, colour and smell, which our senses perceive. Knowing all these to be short-living, none of them can be the object of our pursuit. Entire world, nay creation, becomes inconsequential, so far as the goal of lasting contentment is concerned.
What is left aside is the sole witness of all these. Self, the witness, though within the body, is invisible. So, you do not have to look for it. Thus you become free of external or internal attractions. Mind then becomes one-pointed. Nothing is there to cause distraction of any kind. All thoughts, being about sensory objects, become irrelevant. There is no ground to think about the Self too.
No effort is necessary to get at the Self, as you are the Self already. Imagine the relaxation you will begin to feel in such an exclusive care-free and effort-free state.
Having nothing to seek and achieve, with nothing to cause concern or agitation too, the mind naturally becomes transparent. It will be like luminous space. In such sentient vastness, nothing rises or sets, emerges or subsides.
It is a state of palpable fullness, abundance. One becomes firmly seated, unshaken by anything, as Gita puts it (6.22 ). The whole process is one of infusional introspection and its blessed fruition!
