Ashtavakra Gita 7.3 -

See how much can spiritual knowledge and realization grow and advance! Janaka earlier referred to the universe as a boat in the expanse of the Self. In a way it is conceding solidity and form to the universe. But is that true? All perceptions and experiences are in the mind, within the body. In the pāñca-bhautika body, there cannot be any other substance. So the thought of any substantial entity in the mind or the Self is repugnant to the very basis of knowledge. Our intelligence will easily admit this.

What else can be there? Mental products alone. As the mind is subtle, its products also will only be subtle. The sleeper sees the dream objects. But are they really solid and formed? How can solid entities be there, in the mind-plane? They can only be notional, like thought and emotion, products of imagination. We have already seen that all that transpires within the body, in the mind, is but imaginary. The universe also is imaginary. Once it is so, what is there to worry about or get affected the least?

That is how Janaka feels he is exceedingly peaceful. He is formless. Are reflections in the lake of trees standing on its bank, or vehicles moving on the road on the bank, physical, solid or formful? They cannot be. Every one is clear about it.

Even more so is the truth about the entities reflected within our body. They are sheer imagination. Discount them outright, and be peaceful and free to the full. Float in the ecstasy of freedom.
