Ashtavakra Gita 18.79 -

क्व धैर्यं क्व विवेकित्वं क्व निरातङ्कतापि वा ।
अनिर्वाच्यस्वभावस्य नि:स्वभावस्य योगिन:

kva dhairyaṃ kva vivekitvaṃ kva nirātaṅkatāpi vā .
anirvācya-svabhāvasya niḥsvabhāvasya yoginaḥ .. 18-79..

Where is courage, where is discrimination, where is fearlessness, for the yogi devoid of any particular nature, but who has an indescribable nature?

Commentary by Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Any extent of description and definition will not be adequate to delineate the Self as well as the Self-knower. The more you think and speak about them, the more sublime you will be. Here the Sage pictures the Knower as of indescribable nature.

The mind of people in general hosts love for some and hatred for others. All are bent on striving for gain and avoiding loss. They like friends and dislike non-friends. Preference and prejudice constrict them grievously.

Knower becomes more and more like the Self, hence is impersonal and has no particular nature. For such a one, is courage called for? Discrimination also becomes irrelevant. What will he discriminate and for what? All are a product of illusion. Dismiss it outright. Be not bothered and affected.

Though bereft of all do’s and don’ts, he has no fear on account of anything. First, nothing is there to frighten him. All are ghosts seen in posts at night. In light, all of them disappear. In spiritual effulgence, all illusions flee.

As celestial bodies move in their orbits, events upon the earth also occur one after another in their due turn and relevance. Sunrise brings the day and sunset the night, calling for neither reception nor farewell. It is a lofty state of reconciliation and harmony, bringing the best of events and development in its wake!
