Whoever notices distraction in himself, he indeed strives to restrain it. The exalted one is not distracted. Noticing nothing to be attained, what does he have to do ?
Restraint and regulation become relevant and necessary only when one finds some distraction in himself. If one’s nature is the Self, which is singular and omnipresent, and the visible world is no more than an imagination imposed on it by itself, where is any substance or expression, to get distracted or agitated, and by what?
A body in a state of rest will continue to be so unless acted upon by another force. If this is so, where is the other factor to act upon the singular Self, Consciousness? Reflect upon this fundamental, and get over all ideas of distraction for ever. If distraction itself is not there, where, what for, is any restraint or control to be exercised? This is the state of placidity and beatitude the Knower carries throughout.
His mind is not constricted by any factor at all. It is so exalted that distraction is unknown to it. Any effort or even a movement becomes relevant when one has to gain something. The Knower has nothing like that ever. He is action-free, taintless, strain and stain free. There is no movement or vibration in the pure Consciousness that he is. When, where and what for will he strive or move? His inner exaltation is so full and abundant in every way, that he does not think, feel or experience any need for making any endeavour. Nothing worldly is there, nothing spiritually also for him to make an effort.
