With your body, mind and words, for how many lifetimes have you not done intense activity, fetching only affliction and undue exertion? Retire from it all at least now.
How endearingly and intimately the Sage addresses the Mithila king in front! What firmness, resolve and discretion he displays! Birth and death are common, regular, repetitive. They give us a clear indication of what life has been and will be. Hunger and thirst make us feed and nourish the body. And this, in turn, generates energy, which goads us to intense activity.
As long as the body is nourished, there is no retreat from activity. Any activity involves hardship. It brings affliction of one kind or another. Life in the world, as stated earlier, causes threefold misery. When will this sequence of birth and death, together with all that fills the duration between them, come to a stop? As it has not ended so far, it will not ever as well!
Have discernment at least now. Stop the delusional havoc. Resolve to turn to your own within and seek the relaxational spiritual ecstasy the Self within bestows. The inner presence is not within the stronghold of time, space and objects. Hence the worldly vagaries do not involve or affect it.
It will give you all the repose you need, look for. Make truthful introspection your habit. Rest on the blissful Self within. And still enjoy your life unhindered, enriching yourself and benefiting the people around immensely.
Do not fall into error again!
