Enough of wealth, desire and holy acts. With these in the forest of world, the mind has had no restfulness so far!
The seeker of the supreme Truth has to be discreet and bold in accepting facts of life and world, and rejecting whatever is wrong, detestable. He should not cling to his delusions. When experiences are evaluated, he should readily accept and be guided by them. It must be like bringing light to dispel centuries old darkness in a cave. There should be no resistance to rise with knowledge.
Ashtavakra Maharshi is ruthless in dispensing with dharma, artha and kāma, the first three purushārthas, as they deal with fleetingness alone. They host delusional clinging, strengthening it again and again. We are seeing countless people around, living and dying with their delusional clinging. Is anyone of them restful and peaceful, with all the wealth they amass, the holy acts they do, the excess sensory enjoyments they indulge in? Body becomes weak, mind even more, and the limbs quiver, unable to work anymore. Is there any change in this fate?
So, enough of this delusional fanfare! Call it off. Let discrimination guide you boldly, confidently, from now on. Say good bye to all fleeting sensory thrills. Turn inward.
As senses interact with the external objects, let the mind reflect upon the luminous and blissful Self. Realize the ecstasy the inmost Self hosts and radiates. And see what happens to your bid. Mind has the power to access the perishable world through senses, as also the inner imperishable Self through intelligence!
