The Knower, though interacting, has, by dint of his realizing the Self, no torment as others generally have. With all his hardship gone, he remains unshaken like a huge lake.
The Sage continues to state that the Self-realized one remains active like ordinary people. His realization does not in any way interfere with his life and activity. In fact, it is a valuable and blessed addition to anyone’s life, also a great enrichment to the society, a point all seekers should know and be guided by.
Spirituality enriches and empowers human personality. The mind becomes light, delightful, flexible and expansive. Above all, it grows a supreme note of harmony and integration. All these are splendid qualities every one loves and yearns to cherish.
Whatever proceeds from the refined mind and intelligence will be most innocuous and benevolent. Spirituality dissolves selfishness, installs selflessness. It removes the ego constriction, instils friendliness towards all. How blessed will then be life on Earth!
So far as mind’s torments are concerned, the man of realization transcends all mental stifling. Krishna in his last message to Uddhava describes the ascetic Knower as profoundly cheerful, immeasurable in every way.
He is hard to excel and is steady, unperturbed, like the vast seas (Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 11.8.5 ).
The extent of benevolent activities a Knower performs is unpredictable. Most important is dissemination of spiritual wisdom, which totally depends upon Seers like him. Eternal writing like the Vedic Upanishads and the like is a gift from Knowers.
