For one whose heart is burnt by the blazing rays of the sun of misery caused by the sense of dutifulness, how can comfort be had except by the ceaseless downpour of the nectar of quietitude?
The Sage is driving the seeker’s mind and heart steadily to the inner abode of quietitude, by instilling the superb quality of dispassion, essential for realizing the Self. Every one has his own sense of duty, each claiming his view and purpose in the matter. But what is one’s duty, for what, about what and with what? What we see all around, including our body, is evanescent and illusory. It is like trying to cater to the needs of those whom you saw in dream! If the whole creational display is a dream, illusory, then all the ideas and compulsions you feel towards them have no meaning, substance or relevance. It is such fictitious dutifulness that immerses you in a variety of afflictions.
Stop it all. Do not run after the dream things. What you need is a full termination of this illusory involvement and a sublime absorption into your own immeasurable inwardness. Let the nectarine shower of absorptional quietitude cool and comfort you, the soonest. Do not extend this worldly involvement even a wee bit. Enough and enough of it all!
Dissuade the mind from all it sees and hosts. Let it get absorbed into its own inner depths and magnificence. The elixir that will then spring forth like a fountain, will be ineffably nourishing and fulfilling. It will not corrode your senses or tire your heart. Like the refreshing sleep, it will be a far more inspirational conscious slumber. Enjoy it to your heart’s content and fullness!
