In this Satsang, Ma speaks about the impermanence of life and how a seeker must constantly introspect on the transitoriness of the world and about the changeful and perishable nature of one’s own body.

Scriptures point out the stark reality of changefulness of our body and inspire us to do Vichara over it. When old age comes, one finds it difficult even to move around and all the friends too are in similar condition. The hearing and eyesight become poor. All senses and organs loose their power and one is unable to enjoy the pleasures of life anymore. The ego about the body and achievements in life also dissolves. Despite this pathetic condition of the body, one neither gives up desires nor realise the inevitability of death.

This is the unavoidable truth of human life. In old age, one’s own children and other family members become hostile. All desires for external objects may dwindle but the desire for love, appreciation and comfort remain strong and they bring about interminable suffering. So, it is important to introspect on the subtle desires which cause discontentment and suffering.

Ma urges seeker to do constant introspection to prepare the mind to face the eventualities of the body and life. The scriptural verses help the process of introspection, by helping the mind withdraw from worldliness. One must perform all activities, fulfil all duties and responsibilities, but mentally one must renounce all attachments, desires and expectations through the process of Vichara and take refuge in God, seated in one's own heart.
