Shraddha means assiduous attention and application. Shraddha is extremely important, says Swamiji.

There is no product anywhere in creation which is not made up of the three gunas-Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. The Shraddha that is manifest in the individual – that also will be governed by what kind of a guna is pronounced in him. Through the Srimad Bhagavatam, Swamiji illustrates each of the three gunas working in the individual.

The Sattva Guna is depicted by the 7-year-old boy, Prahlada, whose devotion was unparalleled. Shringi, the son of Shameeka Rishi, displayed Rajo Guna. The moment he came to know of a dead cobra being put around the neck of his meditating father, he pronounced a curse on Pareekshit. The father explained to him that an austere person must be accepting, understanding that the Atma is unaffected, and above the gunas.

Dhruva was blessed with Shastra Tejas and with a spirit and fervor of a fighter i.e. Rajoguna. The Rajoguna had continued to assail him even when he was old. Finally, taking the example of Duryodhana from the Mahabharata, Swamiji gives the example of Tamoguna.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:
तमेव वत्साश्रय भृत्यवत्सलं मुमुक्षुभिर्मृग्यपदाब्जपद्धतिम् ।
अनन्यभावे निजधर्मभाविते मनस्यवस्थाप्य भजस्व पूरुषम् ॥
