Ma Gurupriya ji's reflections on Poojya Swamiji's morning messages (Prabhata Rashmih)
Date: 06 March 2026
Venue: Vijnana Bhavana, Narayanashrama Tapovanam
Book: *Prabhata Rashmih Volume 3: Chapter 13: Non expectation Its Benign Influences*
In this Satsang, Ma reads and explains a chapter from Poojya Swamiji’s book- ‘Prabhata Rashmih’. Here he explains the effect of expectation on the mind and highlights non-expectation as a path to inner harmony.
Most people believe happiness depends on life unfolding according to their wishes, but this attitude creates strain, anxiety, fear, and disappointment. Swamiji invites deep introspection through questions: Is expectation truly necessary? Do we really know what is best for us? Have we considered all past, present, and future factors before deciding how life should unfold?
Since life is shaped by many forces beyond personal control, clinging to fixed outcomes becomes a burden. Expectation brings three forms of suffering: the expectation itself, fear that it may not happen, and reconciliation when it fails. A wiser approach is to remain open to all outcomes. Non-expectation does not mean passivity but freedom from compulsive wanting. Such openness creates a peaceful, expansive, and spiritually elevated mind that accepts life with grace and balance.
