In this Satsang, Ma explains a chapter from the book-‘Prabhata Rashmih,’ where Swamiji speaks about ego-effacement in the company of the Guru. He points out that many may admire and follow the Teacher from a distance; however, a seeker must seek closer guidance, receive initiation, and open oneself to correction and transformation. Service to the Guru is the most sublimating sadhana and the surest way to efface one’s ego.

Living near the Guru and serving him becomes a powerful means of spiritual growth, helping dissolve ego and transcend personal likes and dislikes. Through attentive observation, humility, and sincere self-assessment, the seeker refines thoughts, words, and actions.

As long as ego is there, it will continue to be the cause of vexation, disappointment in all fields of life. When the ego is dissolved, the mind becomes light and flexible like air. So, the surest way to eliminate the ego and transcend likes & dislikes is close association with the Guru, with a sense of surrender.
