Ma Gurupriya ji's reflections on Poojya Swamiji's morning messages (Prabhata Rashmih)
Book: *Prabhata Rashmih Volume 2: Chapter 31 - Joy of Devotion*
In this Satsang, Ma discusses Poojya Swamiji’s ‘Prabhata Rashmih’ message—“The Joy of Devotion”, where he emphasizes that realization of the Self depends entirely on the purification of the mind. Quoting from the Mundaka Upanishad, he says that the Ātma is ever-present but is revealed only when the mind becomes calm, pure (viśuddha), and free from disturbances like desire, ego, and possessiveness. Just as a clean mirror reflects clearly, a purified mind reflects the Self.
He stresses that mere chanting or study is not enough—scriptures must compel inner transformation. Purity requires self-effort, introspection, patience, humility, and the willingness to accept one’s defects without resistance. Fault-finding and self-justification hinder progress.
True devotion (ahaitukī bhakti) is desireless and purifying, bringing inner joy. Association with the Guru accelerates this refinement. A seeker must value spiritual life deeply, live the teachings sincerely, and strive continuously for inner purity, which alone leads to Self-realization.
