Swamiji says that Deeksha (initiation) is a sublime, silent interaction, where the real spiritual power and sublimity are imparted to the disciple. What transpires in the mind of the Knower, the Guru, and what transpires in the mind of the seeker, the disciple, during the deeksha, determine the spirit, purpose and fruition of the Deeksha.

The essence of sadhana is to dissolve the mind and its modifications into the mantra, both in meditation and daily interactions. The mind must shift from plurality to singularity. The mantra becomes the central support, and steady, patient absorption in it leads to inner growth, purity, and eventual spiritual fulfillment.
The seeker must depend upon his deeksha-mantra, and that alone. All other things – learning, writing, reading and discussing – are secondary.
