In this Satsang Swamiji elaborates on the qualities of a devotee as enumerated in the 12th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. Sri Krishna declares that a devotee who possesses these qualities is dear to Him.

A true devotee does not harbor any hatred or intolerance towards any being. He rejoices in the happiness of others and empathizes with their suffering. Free from possessiveness and egotism, he maintains an equanimity in both happiness and suffering.

Being constantly connected to the Supreme, he is forever contented, disciplined and steadfast in his resolve. His mind and intelligence are completely surrendered to the Lord. He is neither disturbed by the world nor becomes the cause of anxiety to others. Such a devotee is free from elation, depression, fear, anxiety, and affliction.

He does not have any expectations, at any time. He is endowed with both external and internal purity. Though highly efficient in action, he remains inwardly detached and free from the ego of doership. Swamiji emphasizes that a seeker must introspect deeply on each of these qualities and cultivate them.
