Lecture series by Nutan Swamiji during Delhi Sadhana Shibiram 2025.
Date: 19 September 2025
Venue: CIRD, Delhi
Following the series on Buddhi Yoga of the Bhagavad Gita, this session features Swamiji’s concise clarifications to seekers’ questions on spiritual growth. He emphasizes that in Buddhi Yoga, bhava (feeling) alone is not sufficient; it must arise from clear understanding through the buddhi. True devotion is thus rooted in introspection and discrimination.
The Bhagavad Gita describes Sāttvika dhṛti as the will and drive by which one holds the activities of the mind, life forces and senses in unswerving Yoga. This resolve develops through śraddhā and a sattvic way of living. For spiritual progress, the seeker’s intelligence must become sharp, stable, and one-pointed. This happens only when the mind is free of desires. In order to make the intelligence sharp and one-pointed, one must spend mind-hours in Saatvika pursuits. Spending time reading shastras, reflecting on the expansive Self, makes the mind more and more expansive.
Swamiji clarifies that concepts like birth, death, heaven & hell, rebirth are all non-experiential. A spiritual seeker must focus on whatever is experiential, realizing that the Self is eternal, beyond birth and death. Realization or Moksha lies in shifting identity from body to Self.
