After listening to Krishna attentively, who extolled both renunciation of activities as well as performing activities faithfully, Arjuna raises a very pertinent question. Aren't Sannyasa and Yoga different? Out of the two, which will confer ultimate Sreyas? In this satsang, Poojya Swamiji tackles this seeming conflict and gives us great clarity.

Mind is the fulcrum of our life and life is always mental and inward. So, whatever we are looking for should be relevant to the mind. Be it joy or contentment, it must be generated from the mind alone. If we understand this truth, our life will undergo a tremendous change. To rise from sensory and emotional level, to the intelligence level is the call and solution for all situations in life.

Swamiji enlightens us that Sannyasa and pursuit of Karma both equally bestow sreyas. Yet, between the two, Karma Yoga is better than Karma Sannyasa as it is practical, easy and inline with our nature. The mind must remain 'sama' with respect to favourable and unfavourable results of actions.

Explaining the sloka 5.3 very powerfully, Swamiji says a Sannyasin is one who does not hate or hanker after desire. He is full with the Self. Let any number of dvandvas encounter him, he always remains a master, with the might of the mind and intelligence; stable and equipoised. His strength as well as wealth is renunciation and austerity. Devoid of ego, possessiveness and desires, all actions become divine and his life radiates divinity.
