When grief, doubt or agitation assails our mind, no amount of material possession is of any help. The plight can only be redressed by instilling the mind with knowledge, wisdom by the intelligence. This is what Krishna did for Arjuna, when the latter was overwhelmed by sorrow in the battlefield. Arjuna later picked up the bow and valiantly fought the great Mahabharata war.

Chapter 5 of Bhagavad Gita is called karma-sannyasa yoga. When action is indispensable for all beings and the three gunas of prakriti is constantly persuading everyone to action, what does karma-sannyasa mean? Poojya Swamiji enlightens us that sannyasa is not a physical renunciation of activities or interaction, rather it is a process of enlightenment of our intelligence.

While it is true that sensorily we perceive a world of infinite variety, on close observation we find that this infinite variety is only an imprint in our mind. No object is gross, separate or external. Waking world is exactly the same as the dream world displayed by our mind. It is the one Consciousness appearing as many. All our troubles are due to our ego-centricness, possessiveness and desire. In the light of this wisdom, we come to realize that there exists nothing which we can possess or desire; and then dawns a feeling of absolute freedom.

Poojya Swamiji says, this Supreme truth has to be first understood, then preserved in the intelligence, cherished in the heart, pursued in our interactions and have our identity with it. When this knowledge is preserved like a flame of lamp and made to constantly blaze forth, all sins, blemishes and impurities of the mind will be completely washed off and constrictions of the intelligence too will vanish. Our personality will be continuously refined and reformed every moment. This knowledge is the Supreme refuge in our life!
