113 – Bhagavad Gita – Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha – Samatva – The Central Message of Bhagavad Gita

In this satsang, Poojya Swamiji enlightens us about 'Samatva' the key to win over the world and be its master.

No matter how vast and infinite the world variety is, our senses reduce them to only five sensations. When they reach the mind, they are further reduced to two - sukha and dukha. So, the entire world and our interactions with it can produce only two responses in us - pleasant or unpleasant. By understanding the inevitable and cyclic nature of sukha-dukha experiences, we must develop an equal disposition towards both. Instead of fighting them, we must cultivate an attitude of harmony and integration with them.

Swamiji points out that our Knowledge, is enveloped by desire. This has to be cleared by having moderation and sway over the senses. While desire is powerful, it can be overcome, as our inner personality has far superior faculties to regulate the senses and overcome passion. Human life is meant to be enriched and empowered by world, not to become its slave. By dwelling on the Self, its infinite depth and potential, we should live as a poised and glorious person!
