Ma’s nectarine talk revolves around the subject of devotion (Bhakti), dispassion (Vairagya), and knowledge (Jnana). She emphasizes the significance of hearing and discussing the excellences and glories of the Lord, which are auspicious and enlightening.

The listeners come to understand the transformative power of being in the embrace and protection of the divine, which helps transcend worldly attachments and anxieties. The focus must be on inner devotion and unconditional love for the Lord, rather than seeking external enjoyments.

Chanting beautiful, melodious verses, Ma urges the seekers to grasp the importance of chanting and practicing devotion with love, emotion, and yearning. She encourages all to chant and remember the verses, as poetry is easier to remember than prose. Whether the shlokas are on devotion, dispassion or Knowledge, the sadhaka must be attuned to it.

A seeker may take to verses which explore the transient nature of worldly pleasures, which bring temporary happiness accompanied by fear and anxiety. Repeated chanting of such verses will lead to dispassion. A seeker may also practice chanting of verses on Jnana or knowledge which will intensify his seeking and yearning to know his own true nature. Repeatedly chanting and reminding himself that, “I am Brahman,” the seeker with his intelligence purified by austerity, charity, and renunciation, attains the Supreme.
