Jamshedpur Jnana Yajna 2016
Day 3 of 4 day lecture series.
22 November 2016, CIRD Jamshedpur
In this Satsang, Swamiji emphasizes that the Bhagavad Gita is not a religious text, but an administrative treatise, presented as a dialogue between two warriors-Krishna and Arjuna.
On seeing Bhishma, Drona, and his own relatives in the opposing side, Arjuna was overwhelmed by sorrow and weakness. Krishna admonished him for falling prey to unmanliness and urged him to abandon his weakness and get up and fight.
Arjuna confessed that he was overpowered by narrowmindedness. His mind was deluded and he was unable to arrive at a dharmic decision. He declared Krishna as his Guru and became a seeker of Shreyas.
In response, Krishna spoke about the identity of man, the unchanging Self, which is the same in the past, present and future, and is beyond birth and death. From birth, the body undergoes changes and death is the last transformation in the body.
Life is an interaction between our senses and the objects. When the senses come in contact with objects of the world, they become five sensations. At the level of the mind, they become two—sukha and duhkha. They come and go and are temporary. A seeker must forbear them.
