In this Satsang, Swamiji emphasizes that the Bhagavad Gita is not a religious scripture but an administrative treatise representing the culture and values of India. It conveys the message of the Upanishads, and teaches the art of managing the mind and intelligence.

The Bhagavad Gita is a part of Bheeshma Parva of the Mahabharata. Sanjaya, endowed with divine vision, narrates the unfolding events to the blind king Dhritarashtra, who anxiously wishes to know whether any dharmic dialogue transpired before the commencement of war.

After the war conches are blown, Arjuna asks Krishna to place the chariot between the two armies so that he may see those assembled whom he must fight. When the chariot is stationed before Bhishma and Drona, Arjuna is overwhelmed by grief, doubt, and confusion. The task of Krishna was to strengthen Arjuna and make him get up and fight the war for establishing righteous rule on earth.
