In this Satsang, Swamiji emphasizes that the Bhagavad Gita is an administrative treatise, not a religious gospel. It is ever-lasting, timeless literature, rooted in unchanging values, that has endured through all the changes taking place in the human civilization.

Ramayana and Mahabharata-the epics of our land-are concurrent histories written by the authors. Ramayana, composed by Valmiki, began as a biography but became an autobiography when he gave refuge to the pregnant Sita. It discusses brotherhood and the values governing human life. Mahabharata, written by Vyasa about his own family, speaks about the fall of the Kuru dynasty. It speaks about the conflicts, contradictions, and grave challenges faced by humans and educates us every step of the way.

Bhagavad Gita message, given in the war field of Kurukshetra, is a part of Mahabharata. It discusses the grief generated by the human mind, and shows how to deal with it. It discusses the constituents of the human personality, the world and individual interaction with the world, offering the profound spiritual and philosophical message in the midst of war.
