In this Satsang, Ma emphasizes that seekers must do constant self-examination and self-assessment-- observing their own thought patterns, identifying troublesome traits, and recognizing the noble qualities that need to be cultivated. By this process of sincere self-examination, one becomes aware of personal deficiencies and the areas requiring refinement.

In his Prabhata Rashmih message, Swamiji says that a sincere, willful self-assessment must be undertaken by seekers to find out what traits must be incorporated and what must be eliminated from the personality. This introspection is indispensable in spiritual sadhana and it is equally essential in all walks of life.

Reflecting on her own period of intense Sadhana, Ma recalls repeatedly reminding herself about the importance of Vichara in spiritual life. The aim of all scriptural reading, listening to spiritual discourses, and Sadhana is only to be enveloped by Divinity every moment of the day. The mind must be filled with intense yearning and love for the spiritual path.
