In this Satsang, Ma lovingly emphasizes that Guru Sannidhi (close association with the Guru) is very rarely had, and that a seeker must consider this association to be the most important in his life. Through his own experience and realization, the Guru teaches us to remain afloat in the worldly ocean in all life situations, being fearless, unaffected, and dispassionate.

A Guru is one who is well-versed in scriptures, pure, free from desires, established in the Supreme, peaceful and an ocean of mercy. He has realized that ever-present, imperishable Soul, and never falls from that knowledge. Guru is one who repeatedly instructs: “You are not the body; you are the Soul, the inner Presence, which is imperishable, unchanging, unborn, and eternal.”

Guru Sannidhi is truly had when the seeker constantly dwells on the words of the Guru, bringing it to all situations in life and feels enveloped and protected by the messages of the Guru. In addition to doing the Sadhana, applying the messages of the scriptures and the Guru, and cultivating divine qualities, seekers must constantly introspect and assess their own progress in the spiritual path.
