Ma explains that Sadguru Sannidhya—true closeness to a realized Guru—is not physical nearness but deep receptivity, sincerity, and inner transformation in the disciple. The seeker must practice honest self-introspection, reflecting on the Guru’s words and correcting oneself accordingly. Just as Swamiji raised his doubts before Baba (his Guru), a disciple should enquire about the nature of a self-realized man and try to imbibe those qualities.

A realized person is calm, free from agitation, desire, and pride. He remains equal in praise and blame, lives in the present, and naturally spreads peace and compassion like a gentle spring breeze. Observing the Guru’s behavior—his humility, non-criticism, readiness to help, and universal love—becomes a practical guide for the disciple’s own growth.

True discipleship means exclusiveness, faith, obedience, and living the teachings rather than merely hearing them. Constant sadhana, introspection, and assimilation of the Guru’s qualities purify the mind. A spiritually enlightened man remains undisturbed even amid life’s greatest upheavals.
