Discussing the relationship between the Knower Guru (Baba) and his sincere disciple (Swamiji), Ma emphasizes that through close association of a Sadguru one gets guided to the supreme felicity-- a state fearlessness and unaffectedness. Guru Deeksha (initiation) and dedicated sadhana alone can lead a seeker to spiritual fruition.

Baba instructed Swamiji to comprehend Consciousness with the help of the mind and intelligence, while dropping all possessiveness and desires. He said that a seeker needs to look to none and nowhere except to one’s own Sadhana, which can burn away all defects and insufficiencies.

The call of renunciation in Swamiji was very strong and soon Baba gave him Sannyasa, giving him the name Bhoomananda Tirtha. Speaking about the life of a Parivrajaka (wandering, reclusive life of a Sannyasin), Baba said that whatever growth and enrichment wandering life brings can also be attained staying in one place. Whether one takes to wandering life or stay in an Ashram, the primary question is whether the mind becomes restful and sublimated.
