Based on Ashtavakra Samhita, these talks were held during Malaysia Jnana Yajna 2013.
This talk was held on 13 August 2013.
In these series of talks, Swamiji discusses the text- Ashtavakra Samhita. In this profound text, Sage Ashtavakra expounds the deep truth of the Soul to king Janaka.
Sage Ashtavakra says that if one is an aspirant of spiritual liberation, one must disregard all external things like poison and pursue five inner personality embellishments or virtues. He must pursue Kshama (patience, tolerance, forbearance), Arjava (Straightforwardness), Daya (Compassion), Tosha (Contentment) and Satyam (Truthfulness).
If one can separate the body in one’s mind and be restful in the perceiver Consciousness, he will become happy, calm and free from all bondage. A seeker must take time to introspect on the Subject which is the source and terminus of all interactions.
A seeker is urged to understand that dharma & adharma, happiness & misery etc. are all mind-born, they are concepts of the mind. They do not affect him at all. One is neither the doer or performer, nor the enjoyer and sufferer. The Consciousness (one’s own real identity) is ever-free, unconditioned and ever-liberated.
The sage stresses on the fact that the Consciousness (one’s real identity) is the singular, unchanging witness of all the objects of the world. He urges the seeker to drink the nectar of the faith that he is a non-doer and become happy and free.
