Lecture by Nutan Swamiji based on Chapter 14 of Bhagavad Gita during Sadhana Shibiram in Society for Inner Resources Development, Malaysia on 30 January 2023.

In this Satsang, Swamiji analyzes and discusses the qualities of a gunatita (one who has transcended the gunas), as presented in the Bhagavad Gita. The Gunatita does not resent the rise of Sattva guna, rajo guna or tamo guna in his personality and also does not wish for the reduction of their influence. He remains unaffected by the play of the gunas in his personality.

One who has transcended gunas remains equipoised in happiness and misery. He does not cling to likes and dislikes and remains unmoved by blame or praise. He remains even or equal towards honour and dishonour & friends and enemies. He does not take up activities motivated by desires and

Giving a simple formula for overcoming the bondage of the gunas, Sri Krishna says that one who serves the Lord with steadfast and unswerving devotion and has taken refuge in Him, will become free of the influence of the gunas and their binding effects.

Quoting from Bhagavatam, Swamiji says that a seeker must make an effort to win over Rajo guna and tamo guna bondage by cultivating Sattva guna. How to overcome Sattva guna bondage? It can be overcome by surrender or non-expectation, where a person does not expect anything from anybody, from anywhere and at any time. By cultivating this surrender, one is relieved of the bondage of the gunas.

Swamiji will be discussing 'Voice of Upanishads'. The Global Satsang will be based on Isa Upanishad. | Live Satsangs with Spiritual Masters on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at 8 pm IST/10:30 am EDT/ 10:30 pm MST.
