05 – Kenopanishad – by Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha

In this Satsang, Swamiji emphasizes the point that the Consciousness is the unchanging substratum of everything. Everything is revealed by the Consciousness.

Through its Mantras, the Upanishad explains how the Atma can be thought of or understood. Atma cannot be known by the senses or the mind. It cannot be expressed by any parameter. It is to be known from a Guru who has Realized the Truth. By following his instructions, a seeker has to realize the Truth.

Brahman cannot be expressed by words but it is the source of all words. It is the substratum of all words, all perceptions, all intelligential arguments or understanding, all mental concepts. Brahman is that which cannot be conceptualized by the mind but it Reveals the mind. Brahman cannot be seen by the eye but all visions we see are revealed by the Consciousness. We cannot know the Consciousness through sound but everything we hear is revealed by the Consciousness. Brahman enlivens the Pranas or Vital energy and enlivens the body.

While supporting everything, it does not get entangled with anything. It does not cling to anything. Without clinging to anything, it can hold everything.
