In this talk, Swamiji explains that the fourth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, Jnana Karma Sannyasa Yoga, is an exposition of Sannyasa. Spiritual knowledge must be applied to understand and evaluate karma; When knowledge is applied to activities, it becomes Sannyasa.

Through introspection and observation of inner processes, the mind and intelligence become refined, sharpened, and more perceptive. This inner sadhana enables one to recognize and transcend raga, dvesha, fear, anger, and other undesirable tendencies, becoming increasingly impersonal and impartial.

Swamiji emphasizes that true renunciation does not require external symbols; it is the absence of ownership, selfishness, desire, and possessiveness. When actions are performed without a sense of ownership, they do not bind. The wise remain content, free from jealousy, and even-minded in success and failure. Thus, Sannyasa is freedom from desire and hatred, leading to liberation from bondage.
