265 – Strengthening Inner Personality Through Worship I Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

1844 Views | 7 months ago

A unique exposition by Poojya Swamiji on how worship to the Lord Almighty, can lead one to a better and strengthened inner personality. Poojya Swamiji has been expounding Vedantic Truths to the devotees in Sithi Vinayak Temple in Malaysia for many years.

Date: 15 November 2025
Venue: Sithi Vinayak Temple, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

Worship, Swamiji explains, is not meant to benefit God but to transform the worshipper. Its real purpose is the enrichment of the mind, intelligence, and ego. While the body is material and limited, the inner personality has vast potential for refinement, clarity, strength, and elevation.

There are four levels of worship: physical (rituals), oral (chanting and prayer), mental (silent remembrance), and intellectual (study, reflection, and deep contemplation). Starting with physical worship, one must progress to oral worship and further progress to the invisible worship within, where one uses the mind and the intelligence. One must begin reflecting upon and examining one’s own worship and rise from the bodily level to the oral, mental and intelligential levels.

True devotion expands beyond formal prayer into constant inner dialogue with the Divine, leading to humility, emotional purification, and freedom from desires. Swamiji exhorts listeners to strengthen, intensify devotion, making it permeating, until at last God is seen everywhere. Mature devotion leads to seeing God everywhere, feeling intimate closeness with Him, and realizing oneness with the Divine.
