In the Ishopanishad Satsangs, Swamiji carries our minds to a subtle level and gives us a touch of the Truth. In this concluding portion, he again reminds us that the Sadhana of a seeker is to know that the whole universe is appearing in the Consciousness (Ishaavaasyamidam Sarvam…).

In the journey to discover the Truth, we find that our mind is bound by attractions and repulsions, desires, possessiveness and a tendency to enjoy. These do not allow us to perceive the Supreme. In the Upanishad, the Sadhaka’s prayer is to remove the entanglements (possessiveness, ego,
attachments etc.), so that he can have a vision of the Truth.

As long as a seeker’s mind is given to the constricted idea of the Self, coloured by likes and dislikes, ‘me’ and ‘mine’, he will not be able to perceive the Truth. In such a case, the Sadhaka has to surrender to the Truth and pray that it takes him where he needs to go. The prayer should be to make the vision straight removing all the constricted vision.

Explaining the concluding verses, Swamiji says that the will of the Lord is active in the whole universe. Our Sadhana is to merge our own will to the will of the Lord, to be in tune with the infinite. We must pray to the divine will to dissolve all our constrictions and distortions. Our egoistic identity should pray to the Real Universal Identity to remove the ego and make us free, so that we can move along the straight path to auspiciousness.
