Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha begins the exposition of Isha Upanishad in this Global Satsang. Sharing the background story of the Upanishad, Swamiji says that it is very important because there are eternal values imparted through the story.

He says that Upanishads are like clouds where you get engulfed by waves of auspiciousness. The study of an Upanishad has to give the reader a touch of the Supreme Soul. Elaborating on the Shanti Mantra of the Upanishad ॐ पूर्णमदः पूर्णमिदं …., Swamiji explains what real poornatva (fullness) is. In the Ultimate level of Poornatva, there is no division of even the Subject and object. Something can be called Poornam only when there is no boundary (subject-object division) or any limit. Poornam is not applicable to anything in the objective world. One will attain Poornatva only when he/she discovers the Consciousness and understands that this Consciousness alone is appearing as the world.

Swamiji chants and explains the first verse of the Upanishad which says that everything we see is pervaded by God or Brahman. Everything in this creation is the Isha or Lord alone. Therefore, one should enjoy this world by Tyaga (Renunciation). When one realizes that everything is That Consciousness alone, then the real enjoyment comes in. Enjoyment is not in enjoying the world objects but in Realizing That.
