പരമകല്യാണനിധിയായ ഭഗവാനോടുള്ള ഭക്തിമൂലം മനുഷ്യൻ മുക്തനായിത്തീരുന്നു. ഭക്തനു ഭഗവാൻ മാത്രംമതി, മറ്റൊന്നും വേണ്ട. ഗോപികമാർക്കു കൃഷ്ണനോട് അചഞ്ചലവും, അതുല്യവുമായ സ്നേഹമായിരുന്നു. അവർ ചെയ്ത ത്യാഗത്തിനു പ്രത്യുപകാരം ചെയ്യാൻ ദേവായുസ്സു കൊണ്ടു പോലും തനിയ്ക്കു കഴിയില്ലെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കൃഷ്ണൻ. അവരുടെ ആ വിശേഷ മനോഭാവം താൻ അകന്നിരുന്നാൽ വർധിച്ച്, ഉന്നതമായി, അവസാനം ജീവന്മുക്തിയ്ക്കു വഴി വെയ്ക്കുമെന്നു വിചാരിച്ചാണ് അവരോടു തിരിച്ചു സ്നേഹം പ്രകടമാക്കാത്തത്. ആ ഭക്തിയെ പൂർണമായി ആശ്രയിച്ചു ഗോപികമാർ തൃപ്തിയും സാഫല്യവും നേടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

തന്‍റെ, ഉറങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന അഞ്ചു പുത്രന്മാരേയും വധിച്ച അശ്വത്ഥാമാവിനെപ്പോലും പാശബന്ധനത്തിൽനിന്നു മുക്തനാക്കി വിട്ടയയ്ക്കണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ദ്രൗപദി അഭൂതപൂർവമായ ഗുണമഹിമയാണ് പ്രദർശിപ്പിയ്ക്കുന്നത്. ഇങ്ങനെ വ്യക്തിഗതമായി നടന്ന സംഭവങ്ങളെ സമാജത്തിന്‍റെ മുഴുവനും മൂല്യവും ആദർശവുമാക്കിത്തീർക്കാൻ നമ്മുടെ പൂർവികർക്കു സാധിച്ചുവെന്നതാണ് ഭാരതഭൂമിയുടെ മഹത്വം.
