Prabhata Rashmih - The Practice of Sadhana

Chanting to Purify the Mind

Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

  • Chanting to Purify the Mind

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Swamiji emphasizes that chanting is a pursuit whereby one is instilling ideas and propositions in the mind, which are contained in the verse. Constant Recitation or chanting is a Sadhana for Realizing the Truth. The recitation will start reminding a seeker of whatever he is supposed to leave and what he is supposed to cultivate. Repeated chanting will help the seeker to purify his/her own being.

The words on the verses must be repeatedly introspected upon and slowly the practitioner must drop ego, possessiveness and desire.

Swamiji urges everyone to practice chanting of verses which will give rise to delight, love and devotion.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:

बन्धो हि वासनाबन्धो मोक्षः स्यात् वासनाक्षयः ।
वासनां त्वं परित्यज्य मोक्षार्थित्वमपि त्यज ।।
