01 of 03 Talks based on Bhagavad Gita during Malaysia Jnana Yajna 2024.
06 September 2024, SIRD Malaysia
In this Satsang, Ma emphasizes that Spiritual wisdom is an enlightenment which takes us from smallness to expansiveness. One understands that one is not the body-mind personality but the Self, which is unchanging, unaffected, and eternal.
A seeker must make an effort to remember what his real identity is! He must understand that by attaining the goal, he becomes equipped to face even the most severe affliction. Just like in any academic or professional undertaking, the seeker must make diligent efforts to attain his goal.
Keeping his ultimate aim in front, the Sadhaka must strive to cultivate spiritual qualities. In various chapters, Bhagavad Gita outlines the spiritual qualities that a seeker must cultivate. Endowed with yearning and enthusiasm, he must be attentive and alert to attain these qualities. These qualities are iterative and the cultivation of one helps other qualities also to grow.
The thirteenth chapter speaks about the qualities that constitute wisdom, Jnana. A Sadhaka must strive to be free of pride, ostentation, violence, egoism, and delusional attachment. He must try and cultivate qualities like forgiveness, straight-forwardness, even-mindedness, steadfastness, self-control etc. and he must clearly see the trouble and torment associated with birth, death, old age, disease, and affliction. Ma stresses that a seeker must be in the association of the Guru and serve him with devotion.
