Ma Gurupriya

096 – by Swamini Ma Gurupriya – Let Dispassion become your Only Passion

908 Views | 4 months ago

In the presence of a Mahatma and while listening to his words we feel enlightened and enriched. But we lose that feeling of divinity and enlightenment when we become active in daily life. Why does this happen? Ma tells us that we are unable to get established in the spiritual knowledge because of our desires, ego and possessiveness.

Ma says if we want to attain liberation from all shackles of mind, then we must give up the attachment to worldly objects, considering them as poison and in their place, we should cultivate nectarine qualities such as forbearance, straightforwardness, compassion, contentment and truthfulness. This should be the watchword for all seekers.

We must not have delusional fondness for family, wealth and possessions. All of these are changeful and fleeting and hence attachment to them brings restlessness and suffering. Instead, we must look for that which is permanent. If we turn our desires towards God, then immediately we will start walking in the direction of Liberation. When one becomes free from worldly attachments, in everything he finds God alone!
