Gurupoornima 2024 - Discourse based on Bhagavad Gita & Srimad Bhagavatam

#bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam

In these talks, through the verses of Bhagavad Gita, Ma speaks about devotion and how to become a true devotee. Enumerating on the qualities of a true devotee, she says that a seeker must simply love the qualities and sincerely pursue them and strive to purify the mind.

Sri Krishna says that all the various expressions in human beings arise from the Lord alone. All the emotions, feelings, qualities, intelligence, happiness, misery etc., everything has arisen from the one source, the Lord. By this source alone, all are activated. A seeker must remember this and remain connected to the one source, which is changeless, imperishable.

As long as one is identified with the changeful body, mind and intelligence, one will not be able to know the Supreme Lord, even if one is living a life of charity, austerity and sacrifice. It is possible to know the universal dimension of the Lord only by exclusive devotion.

Through all actions, speech, interactions, a seeker must become Nitya-Yukta (connected to the Lord). Who is a Nitya Yukta? One who, infusing the Supreme Lord in the mind, worships the Lord with a constant identity, with Sraddha, is united with the Lord. He has wholesome reliance on the Lord and gives supreme value to the auspicious goal of life, to the exclusion of everything else.

Quoting from Swamiji Bhoomananda Tirtha ji’s book ‘Prabhata Rashmih-Vol 1’, Ma says that a seeker must fill every moment of life with divinity. When the mind becomes pure, thoughts become noble, when the intelligence becomes self-reminding about divinity, one becomes spiritual.
