In this Satsang, Ma speaks about the initial days of her spiritual journey when she started corresponding with Baba Gangadhara Paramahamsa of Dakshinkhanda. With a dispassionate, restless heart, the young Ma wrote to Baba, openly expressing all her spiritual yearning, agitations,
fears, and anxieties. She sought that which would give her permanent happiness, freedom, and fulfillment.

Baba wrote back saying that in any academic education, a teacher is very important. In the spiritual path, in the quest of the Supreme Truth, the guidance and direction of the Guru is inevitable for a seeker. By Deeksha (initiation), the Guru initiates the spiritual journey of the seeker. One may have a yearning to receive Deeksha from a Sadguru, but if there are hindrances, one must understand that the time for Deeksha is yet to come.

He urged her to constantly pray for the right time and opportunity for Deeksha and not to become disappointed or fearful. Blessing her for the fulfilment of her desire for Deeksha, Baba asked Ma to focus on her studies and complete the research. He emphasized that by the spiritual restlessness and yearning, the academic education should not be affected. He urged her to do everything with a spiritual mind, being connected to the Lord.

Ma says that all of Baba’s letters were a treasure for her seeking heart, and they gave her peace, consolation, and happiness. With wholesome love, faith, and devotion, she surrendered herself to him, to his instructions. How did she worship Baba, her Guru? She worshipped him with her tears, which were flowers of gratitude. The lamp of complete reliance on the Guru, was her Arati to him.

This session depicts Ma’s wholesome Guru-Bhakti, openness, total reliance, and complete faith in the words of the Guru.

Shlokas chanted in the Satsang:
58:15 - जन्मानेकशतै: सदादरयुजा भक्त्या….. Sarvavedāntasiddhāntasārasaṅgrahaḥ 254
