In this Satsang, Swamiji emphasizes the importance of cultivating qualities for a complete transformation of the personality. The 13 th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita enumerates 20 qualities and says that these qualities constitute knowledge. Cultivating these qualities lead to expansion and freedom.

Arjuna’s query was that if Jnana path (Upanishadic knowledge pursuit) was supreme, why was he being asked to fight the gory war? Krishna clarified that if he fought with the buddhi anchored in the Self, then the gory war itself would lead him to the same Upanishadic goal.

Arjuna is told that his fitness, maturity, is only for active life, and not for a life pursuing exclusive wisdom. But while doing activity he must not foster any delusional clinging to the outcome of sukha and duhkha (the dual mental responses). These responses should not become the motivation for work. He was also not to seek inactivity (कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन- 2.47).

Bhagavad Gita says that a seeker must do all activities while being anchored in Yoga. He must be free of delusional clinging to the results of the action and be even-minded to the success and failure of the activity.
