Venue: CIRD Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur Sadhana Shibiram 2023

In this session, Swamiji emphasizes that Karma yoga is doing all activities with a yoga attitude. Bhagavad Gita presents the buddhi yoga, where the practice is to incorporate the dimensions of the Self—such as unaffectedness, impartiality, expansion, universality etc., in and through all activities and interactions. Bhagavad Gita introduces various methods of anchoring the intelligence in the Self--Asangatva, Yajna bhava, Samatva, transcending gunas, and surrender.

‘Asangatva’ is freedom from delusional clinging. By constantly thinking about objects of enjoyment, one develops Sanga. If Sanga (clinging) is removed, one is free. Scriptures say that instead of clinging to perishable objects, one must cling to the Self.

Bhagavad Gita presents the revolutionary ‘Yajna concept’. Traditionally, Yajnas (Vedic sacrifices) are performed with a desire for some external gain. But Bhagavad Gita says that anything done without desires becomes a Yajna. If one does activities naturally, without desires, then what one does becomes an offering to the universal Lord.

‘Samatva’ is equanimity or evenness of mind to success and failure. The seeker must train himself to welcome and accept whatever result his action produces. By such equanimity, one becomes poised, and efficient.

Shlokas chanted in the Satsang:
