Day 1 of 5-Day lecture series by Poojya Swamiji based on Bhagavad Gita during 58th Jamshedpur Jnana Yajna.
16 November 2024
CIRD Jamshedpur
In this Satsang, Swamiji says that conflicts are a part of our everyday life. We are liable to have conflicts in all spheres of life—in a marriage, with children, with other members of the family, in the professional front, and in the society. It is important for a seeker to introspect on the genesis of conflicts and understand how to resolve them.
Ramayana and Mahabharata present many instances of conflicts and their resolution. Sri Rama’s life was full of conflicts, but he gracefully accepted the situations and transcended them. In the Ramayana, conflicts led to the mind picking up greater and greater power of assimilation. When the mind accepts something, it becomes enriched. Sri Rama, Sita, Bharata are glorified and loved even today, only because of their flexibility, acceptance of every situation.
There is no conflict which cannot be assimilated by the mind. Every day, our mind obliterates all interactional impacts and puts us to sleep. There may be sorrow, death, blaming, accusation during the wakeful period, but the mind wipes them off in sleep. Having such a mind, we do not have to worry. We can survive death, disease, poverty and much more.
Conflicts are in the mind and the resolution for the conflict can be generated by the intelligence alone. In the Kurukshetra battlefield, Arjuna was faced with the greatest conflict of his life. He had to fight and kill his own beloved grandfather and respected teacher. Arjuna was faced with this conflict and as a result he was under the sway of grief, fear, doubts, delusion, and ignorance. Sri Krishna, through his message, enlightened Arjuna’s intelligence.
We are also faced with a variety of conflicts every day, and the resultants are grief, fear, anxiety etc. Swamiji emphasizes that the Bhagavad Gita helps us resolve all kinds of conflicts. It is ever-relevant and can help a seeker sublimate all interactional impacts.
