02 of 03 Talks based on Bhagavad Gita during Malaysia Jnana Yajna 2024.

In this Satsang, Ma emphasizes that human life is rare. Having had the fortune of a human birth, one must strive to attain the knowledge about one’s own identity. Being steady in this knowledge, one can remain unaffected and cheerful in any situation.

A seeker must adhere to some regular spiritual routines. They must introspect on how to develop good qualities and get rid of bad traits. By regular spiritual routines, one will be able to slowly transform the personality from narrowness to universalness. Bhagavad Gita says that the delights born of sense objects create only misery and they are ephemeral. Introspecting on and understanding this, one must be engrossed in the thoughts of the Lord, and remain contented and joyful.

How can a seeker progress in the spiritual path? Bhagavad Gita gives various methods for this. He must strive to have Samatva (equal vision) to success and failure and must be free from delusional clinging to family, to objects and to one’s own activities. He must do all activities, not for personal gain, but as an offering to the Lord. By repeated introspection, he must see the same Self everywhere and in everything.

The thirteenth chapter of Bhagavad Gita elucidates 20 Jnana qualities, which will enrich the mind. It starts by saying that the seeker must be free of pride, ostentation, and hurtingness. Constant introspection must be done to see whether they are hidden in the personality. Ma emphasizes that when one starts seeing the same Self in everything, everyone, then there is no feeling of differentiation in the mind. Such a mind will not give place to desires, pride and other qualities.
