PS Malaysia Jnana Yajna Vedanta Workshop Session 2 - 2018 07 15
In this Q & A session, of the Vedanta workshop, Swamiji emphasizes that Vedanta tries to equip us with the subject knowledge. When we have this knowledge, all actions and interactions will become easier, more efficient, and excellent. Excellence is a quality of the mind and intelligence and excellence will have to be developed in the mento-intellectual plane. Vedanta urges seekers to be compassionate, excellent, expansive, and given to the welfare of the society.
The questions of the workshop participants cover a wide spectrum. Listeners raise queries about: “What is strengthening the mind and intelligence, how to meditate properly, how to balance spiritual and modern life, the Consciousness, harnessing the inner resources, rituals and prayers, chanting, how to achieve excellence, etc.” Swamiji gives concise replies, which give clarity not only to the questioner, but to all the listeners.
The participants also openly list out the interactional struggles they face in life and seek clarification from Swamiji about how to sublimate likes & dislikes, how to accommodate all kinds of people and behaviour, anger management, expectations in relationships, how to calm the wandering mind, blamefulness etc. These are questions which are relevant for everyone, in all fields of life. Swamiji gives simple, practical formulae to deal with all interactional problems.
Swamiji prescribes a method to live a fulfilling, courageous, devotional life. One must rely upon the Lord and live easily and harmoniously in the world. God pervades every atom in the universe. How to worship such a God? One must think of Him constantly, and be ever-connected to Him. Such a devotee will never lack for anything. Srimad Bhagavatam says that the best devotee is one who binds the feet of the Lord with the cord of love and fondness, so that God can never exit from his heart.
